Telephone

Well, I figured that I hadn't been through Telephone Canyon for a few years, so it was about time to get that on the schedule once again. Seth had never visited there, so this was going to be a treat for him. I remembered the beginning of the canyon and dreaded it. The conditions were just how I remembered them with a very weird looking anchor to start off of. It was two small trees that were tied together on the right side of the canyon. It forced us to traverse over to the second rappel. Last time, Brad did a guided thing from here. Seth just kind of gave me a bottom belay.
I didn't bust open my shin like the last time, but it was still awkward. From there it was smooth sailing with some big rappels. We ran into no problems and the canyon was very similar to how I remembered it. There were some really fun rappels and it was sure nice to be in there early in the year before it got stifling hot. For being a short canyon, it still took a long time and we were out a little later than hoped. The route descriptions all say 5-7 hours, but I still have never done it in less than 8-9 hours.
